So, my coworker Nicole always brings cross-stitch to our schools because when we're not teaching we're just sitting there being bored. In November I finally gave in and bought some kits myself and haven't stopped since. It is SO MUCH FUN. Since I don't really draw anymore (because I'm too busy cross-stitching...), I think I'll start posting pictures of my finished stitching. Unfortunately I already gave a few small ones away, but no big deal, I still have a shitload left. I recently finished a 5x7 panda for my boyfriend/best friend Ben's sister. The damn thing took me over a month. I'm working on another 5x7 for two of my friends who are getting married, but most of it isn't filled in. My next project is either a
10x12 geisha scene kit or a
9x14 Paris silhouette. The Paris one I just bought today at this fantastic cross-stitch shop in Upper Arlington, and it's my first non-kit cross-stitch, so I'm a little nervous. I got
Picture This Plus hand-dyed 28-count linen in Mystic, and I'm doing the silhouette in
DMC 415. It's going to be gorgeous, when I get the guts to tackle a project that big.
Anyway! Expect more pictures of pretty thread! But don't expect to see either of those larger ones for a few months. This shit takes time, and I have two jobs.
