Yes, I OWN A TABLET.
It was supposed to be for Christmas, but he said he knew I'd use it now if he gave it to me now. :3 SO AWESOME. So there will be a whole FLOOD of new art, it'll just be a very slow flood. I'm starting by going through old pencil art and, well, learning to use a tablet. >>;
It was surprisingly quick to adjust to "where the pen is is where the cursor is, suck it up." I also got used to pressure sensitivity vs. brush size pretty easily. My big problems are the differences between computer and paper, color and grayscale. I always drew in black and white and gray on paper, never color. You can't highlight in black and white on paper. I learned shadows well enough, but I never learned highlighting. Highlighting is A BIG DEAL in color on a computer. And I don't have the slightest idea where it should go on pictures. >>;
Also. I am awesome at hair. I have ALWAYS been awesome at hair. It's been my strong point for as long as I've been semi-seriously drawing, so it's not horribly surprising that I'm good at drawing hair in color on a computer as well. But I fucking SUCK at coloring skin, OMFG. I can't BELIEVE how bad I am at it. *hides* So if someone wants to link me to a tutorial on how to properly color and highlight skin in PS(CS1), that would make me a very happy Laura. >>;
*slinks off to play with tablet*
